Alpaca Handling 201 with Nick Morrow

Posted 5/2/2022

SAVE THE DATE!
You'll want to join us for another alpaca handling class - once you've experienced this you'll never go back to the old ways of approaching an alpaca. Bring a few alpacas of your own, or come work someone else's alpacas. Either way, it's $50 for IMpaca members (two people per ranch/farm included)
$100 for all others (per person)

Neonatal Clinic - Dr. Toni Cotton

Posted 2/27/2021

CANCELLED!

Dr. Cotton has unfortunately been suffering effects of illness occurring earlier in the year, and must focus on her health. We hope for her speedy recovery! Please continue to watch impaca.org and our IMpaca Facebook page for more information on events we are planning in 2021.

*******************

Third time's the charm! We will be hosting Dr. Cotton's popular neonatal clinic April 24, 2021, 9:00am - 4:30pm, in Pleasant Grove, UT.

Dr. Toni Cotton will be teaching a neonatal seminar that will equip you with the skills and knowledge to recognize and handle challenging births.

This seminar will include normal and abnormal births; cria support and care for little ones who had a challenging start; and a hands on wet lab to help you understand the ins and outs of birthing, correcting a bad presentation, cria tube feeding and much more.

The more you know, the better prepared you will be for that (hopefully rare) difficult birth and support for the cria and dam.

Great Basin Fiber Arts Fair May 10 & 11

Posted 5/8/2019

Your IMpaca board thought that this long-running Utah fiber event was a great place to meet new folks and educate about alpacas. We will be manning a booth in Building #3.

The Fair runs 10am - 6pm on Friday May 10th, and Saturday May 11th at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington, 151 South 1100 West, Farmington, Utah 84025

The IMpaca booth will have displays of graded fiber, alpaca garments and accessories created from our members' herds, and a map of all current IMpaca members and their contact information. We hope to talk with lots of folks attending the fair about alpacas, their fabulous fiber, husbandry, their myths, legends, and truths!

Come join IMpaca, the dozens of fiber arts vendors, and class instructors at Utah's premiere fiber festival!

Neonatal workshop postponed

Posted 3/12/2017
Dr. Toni Cotton will be unable to present her neonatal seminar in April, as her husband has just had a stroke.

She does offer an opportunity to reschedule in a few months, but that will be dependent on her husband's rehabilitation. We'll hope for his speedy and complete recovery, and that Dr. Cotton will be able to join us later this year.

We'll let everyone know when Dr. Cotton proposes some dates for the seminar.
